Your park buys electricity, then sells it on.
For most businesses, solar simply reduces a cost. For a holiday park it does more, because a park is effectively a small electricity retailer: it buys power from the grid and recharges it to static owners, touring pitches and glamping units.
Every kilowatt hour your park generates on its own roofs replaces a kilowatt hour you would otherwise have bought in. That improves the margin on every unit you resell, not just the units you use in your own buildings.
The seasonal profile works in your favour too. Park demand peaks in exactly the months solar generates most: long summer days, full occupancy, pools running, laundries turning over, bars and restaurants busy. Peak generation meets peak demand, which is the opposite of the problem most commercial buildings face.
Battery storage then carries daytime surplus into the evening peak, when guests are back on site and demand is highest, and anything left over is exported for income.
Every part of the estate pulls load.
Amenity Blocks & Clubhouses
Showers, heating, ventilation, entertainment spaces and kitchens run hard through the season, almost entirely during daylight hours.
Pools, Spas & Leisure
Pool heating, filtration and air handling are among the largest single loads on any park, running continuously through the summer.
Bars, Restaurants & Retail
Refrigeration, catering and lighting loads that run every day the park trades, with refrigeration continuing around the clock.
Laundries & Housekeeping
Changeover-day washing and drying creates predictable, repeatable daytime demand that maps directly onto solar generation.
Pitch & Static Supplies
Electricity recharged to owners and guests. Solar reduces the input cost of the power you resell across the whole estate.
EV Charging
Guest and owner EV charging is growing demand, not a nuisance. Priced and supplied correctly it becomes a revenue line fed by your own generation.
Recharging electricity to pitch holders, done properly.
Recharging electricity to caravan owners and guests is governed by specific rules on resale, metering and pricing. Most solar installers never engage with this. We treat it as central to the design.
We advise on sub-metering strategy across pitches and statics, billing structures that stay compliant with electricity resale rules, and prepayment-style arrangements that protect the park from non-payment while keeping billing simple for owners.
Where solar generation is supplied to pitches, the metering and billing structure determines how the benefit is shared between the park and its owners, and how the system is treated for compliance and finance. Getting this right at design stage avoids expensive rework later.
This is a genuine differentiator: it turns a solar installation from a cost-saving exercise into a structured, defensible income position for the park.
Four ways to pay for it. One of them is usually right.
Outright Purchase
Strongest lifetime return. Capital allowances can shelter a significant share of the cost against corporation tax in year one. We prepare the figures your accountant needs.
Asset Finance
Spread the cost so that energy savings meet or exceed repayments from the first season. Preserves working capital ahead of the trading year.
Grant Support
We track UK grant funding continuously and maintain our own grant intelligence database. Where your local authority or region has a live scheme, we build the application with you, including energy audits and evidence packs.
Zero-Capital / Power Purchase
For larger parks, third-party funded structures can deliver solar with no capital outlay, with the park buying the power at below grid rates. Suitability depends on scale and covenant.
Park buildings are rarely textbook roofs.
Clubhouses, amenity blocks and storage buildings on parks are often lightweight steel or timber structures that were never designed to carry additional load. Plenty of parks have been told "the roof won't take it" and left it there.
Beaumanoir Ltd is led by a building engineer with an MSc in Intelligent Buildings and over 30 years of structural, civil and construction experience. We assess the roof properly before anything is designed, and where a roof is genuinely marginal we have options most installers do not: load-managed designs, lightweight mounting systems, ground-mount arrays on spare land, and solar carports over parking areas.
A structural "no" from another installer is often the start of our conversation, not the end of it.
From first call to first generation.
Feasibility
We review 12 months of bills, occupancy pattern and site layout, and give you a straight answer on whether solar stacks up.
Appraisal & Options
Site appraisal, structural review, right-sized options against your real demand profile, and battery and export modelling.
Funding & Approvals
Funding route confirmed, grant applications prepared where available, and DNO grid applications managed for you.
Procurement & Oversight
Installer selection and client-side oversight, with works programmed around your trading calendar, typically in the shoulder season.
Handover & Beyond
Performance checks, and support with metering and billing setup for pitch recharging.
Where Beau Energy, our own installation division, is the right delivery route, we will say so and disclose that relationship in writing. You remain free to tender the installation elsewhere, and our advice is not conditional on you using Beau Energy.
Asked by almost every park owner.
Will it disrupt the season?
Installation is programmed around your trading calendar. Most park systems are installed in the shoulder months with minimal disturbance to guests.
What about winter?
Generation falls in winter, but so does park demand. The system is sized against the annual profile, and export income continues year round.
Can we charge owners for solar power?
Yes, subject to the rules on electricity resale and metering. We design the billing and metering structure so the arrangement is compliant from day one.
Our roof was refused before. Is that final?
Often not. We reassess structurally and, where a roof genuinely cannot take panels, design around it with ground-mount, carport or load-managed alternatives.
How long does payback take?
It depends on your tariff, demand profile and funding route. We model it properly against your actual bills before you commit to anything, using post-tax figures.
Do you handle the grid application?
Yes. G99 applications and DNO liaison are part of our standard process, including export capacity negotiation where it affects system sizing.
Start with a straight answer.
Send us your park details and 12 months of electricity bills. We will tell you honestly whether solar stacks up for your site, and roughly what it looks like, before any survey or commitment.
